Aloft by Marriott Fort Worth Downtown

We brought our dog and appreciated that Aloft Fort Worth Downtown is pet-friendly. A small designated spot for dogs to relieve themselves would make traveling with a pet easier. The bar staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast was enjoyable, though nothing special. Our room was very cold, which we actually liked. The location is a real plus if you want to be in the middle of Sundance Square, near restaurants, nightlife, and downtown attractions. This has a more urban, modern feel than a classy or luxurious one. If you’re after five-star luxury, it may not be for you, but for a convenient, centrally located dog-friendly stay at a more affordable price, it’s a solid option.

Lauren at the bar was quick, efficient, and fantastic. She has the kind of personality that makes it feel like you’re catching up with an old friend. The valet, front desk, and bar/grill service were all excellent, with staff who communicated well and tried to make our stay comfortable. The valet queue can back up quickly, and the elevator takes a while. Still, it was a good stay, around 4.5 stars.

The room was spacious and nice, but there are no ice machines on every floor. Check-in was another frustration: we were given a 4:00 reservation time, tried for an early check-in online and got 12:15, but still had to wait until 4:10. I’d also paid extra for breakfast and there was no breakfast at all. It was a generally strange hotel, and I wouldn’t book again.

The rooms are nice, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to a light sleeper. I was here on a business trip and got woken up several times on both nights by cars roaring and revving, loud music, people talking in the halls, and doors opening and closing. The steamer in my room wouldn’t turn on, and the replacement they brought was broken too. The food is takeout in plastic containers, not proper room service.
