Courtyard Fort Worth University Drive

I was too tired to drive the hundred miles home after a long, wonderful day at the Ft Worth Zoo, so I booked this stay at the last minute. Glad I did. The room was great, the staff welcomed me and were very helpful, and the pool was a perfect way to finish a splendid day and start the next one.

I left a personal item behind and called the hotel the day after my stay. General manager Michelle confirmed they had it and asked me to email her a shipping label. On November 18th, she wrote that she’d packed my blanket and FedEx had picked it up, and told me to follow the tracking number. A week passed with no delivery updates, and Michelle didn’t respond when I emailed to ask what was happening. I contacted the Marriott Platinum Reservations hotline and explained the situation to Tiffany. She contacted the hotel for me, then told me the package was still there and I’d need to arrange for FedEx to collect it. If that was true, I don’t understand why Michelle said it had shipped on November 18th. I’m extremely disappointed with the hotel’s service, but Tiffany was helpful and proactive, and I really appreciated her assistance.

The front desk service was snotty, which is especially frustrating when you’re paying these prices. Our room was small and dirty, and someone was already in it when we walked in. Despite the group planner’s request, we never got housekeeping. It’s in the district university, and the rates are overpriced. This was the worst hotel stay. The front desk staff need customer service training for groups. Never again.

The area was great and the staff were polite, but I was charged $12 to park in an empty lot. It’s frustrating when a place tries to squeeze every penny out of you. Parking just shouldn’t be on top of the hotel price.
