The first morning, our faces were puffy and our noses were so stuffed up that it took two hours after leaving the property for things to clear. We bought new pillows of our own, which helped a little. The bedding looked clean, but apparently wasn’t. The common room was empty of coffee and other supplies, whether because guests took it all or staff didn’t keep it stocked. We brought our own coffee, but the paper cups leaked. At checkout, breakfast ran about 15 minutes late. The concierge said an extra 15 to 20 minutes was fine and that he wasn’t leaving until noon. Then we were charged $40 for late checkout. That’s not how I understood our conversation, and there was no offer of a discount or other compensation. The property is modern and attractive, and the restrooms are nice. That’s about the end of the positives. Our room had no sunshade beside the beds, leaving us exposed to anyone on the shared deck. We only noticed at 11 p.m. when we closed the shades, then called support and had to move rooms in the middle of the night after we’d unpacked. The replacement room had a huge gap between the wall and sliding deck doors, so we could hear every sound from next door. The TV was so loud we couldn’t sleep, and we heard every cough and fart. I recorded it to share. I hate this place. It was a waste of money. A basic La Quinta in Dallas cost much less and was light years better than Hotel Revel.

For a one-night stay, it did the job, and it wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews made it sound. There was someone at the desk to welcome us and check us in. They gave us a room code, and you need an app to open the front door when nobody’s at the desk. We learned the hard way to keep the phone charged. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the heat and air worked well. The amenities were nice, including electric blinds and a big shower. The walls are thin and the room echoes. We had only a mattress cover, no sheets. The peppermint shampoo and cilantro conditioner were an odd combination, and there was no body wash. Cheba hut next door was probably the best part, highly recommend it. I’d rate the stay 2/5.

I’m very disappointed by how the hotel responded when my elderly grandfather needed extra blankets. We were told it was a “contactless” hotel and nothing could be done. Basic comfort items like blankets should be standard, and a policy shouldn’t get in the way of common sense or care for an elderly guest. Rahul handled the call dismissively and unprofessionally, hanging up on me twice while I was trying to speak up for my grandfather. The whole thing showed a lack of empathy and customer service. I hope management takes it seriously and addresses both how the policy is applied and the staff’s conduct.

The building looked beautiful, so I took a chance and booked a staycation to do something nice for my wife. She was sweet about the whole mess, but said she’d have walked out as soon as she arrived if she’d been alone. I hope someone reads this and avoids the headache and embarrassment we had. After paying almost $200 a night, we couldn’t even get towels or soap easily. Calls asking for towels or body wash went unanswered, and when someone called back, they said they’d bring it later. The common area had dirty dishes in standing sink water, there was no coffee in the cabinets, and the only thing in the fridge was an empty Taco Bell bag. The hotel door was coming apart and some rooms were missing handles. They say they have a bar, but there absolutely wasn’t one. People in Texas expect hospitality, and this place didn’t offer it.

We checked in and checked out within an hour because the noise was unbearable. The rooms echo, the walls seem thinner than at a Motel 6, and there’s no seal around the doors. You hear every hallway door and any neighbor talking loudly or playing music. The bathroom was dirty, and the bed had only three pillows. The windows look nice until you realize guests from other rooms can walk on balconies right in front of them. There was nobody in the lobby to help, and everything runs through an app that kept glitching. Check-in is at 4 p.m., an hour later than at standard hotels, and with no one at the desk there was no way to ask about early check-in. I had to keep refreshing the app, and my booking finally appeared 30 minutes after 4. Just bad. Stay away and save your money.
