All in all, it was a fairly decent experience. Just don’t try sneaking in a pet like I did, since I ended up paying a $70 fine. They watch the cameras for that kind of thing, so that part was my fault. Still, keep it in mind if you’re bringing an animal.

We stayed there for almost 7 months and checked out yesterday. The staff were so kind and sweet, especially the front desk people. I want to thank James, and I can’t remember the other lady’s name at the desk, but she treated us with kindness and respect. We had a great experience and would definitely check back in. We love it there, and we’ll come back.

The carpet is filthy, and there are roaches throughout the hotel, alive and dead on multiple floors. I heard someone else checked in to find no pillows and no sheets on the bed. This is a certified 2-star hotel that should be shut down and resold to a group that cares. Don’t be fooled by the 5-star reviews. If you come, inspect the room and floors, bring Lysol to disinfect, and check for bed bugs. This place could recover, but only with hard work, proper service, and real effort to maintain it. Cheap hotels can be great when they’re run well. Guests shouldn’t be greeted by someone in a t shirt who looks like they just rolled out of bed, or get attitude from a worker who doesn’t understand that proper service is part of hospitality. It feels like the business group that got the franchise saw it as a money grab, and that’s totally unacceptable.

I didn’t stay there, but a friend did. The rooms were OK, and having a kitchenette was a plus, though the room needs serious updating. The staff were nice, and there’s an elevator for the four floors. It’s right off I-20east, but my friend didn’t really hear the road from the room. The laundry room needs new appliances. It took 3 cycles to dry 5-6 items of clothing, and the hallway carpet needs replacing. There’s a weird smell.
