Best Western Fostoria Inn & Suites

We had a spacious double queen room, and it was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are pet friendly rooms, too. Breakfast was limited, but good. This place has been great.

I’ve worked on the road for 23 years, and this is the first bad review I’ve ever left. I won’t stay here again. It’s a nice hotel, but not friendly to traveling workers unless you know exactly how long your job will take. I booked three nights on Sunday because I couldn’t predict the repair job’s length, and expected I might need to extend. I checked in around 9 pm, went to work Monday morning, and finished by about 7 pm, sooner than expected. Back at the hotel around 8:30, I told the desk clerk I’d leave Tuesday morning. They said I’d still owe for the third night, no matter what. The hotel wasn’t close to full. I booked directly with the hotel, even though that costs more, and I’ve never had this issue elsewhere in the country. Even when a job ended early on a weekly rate, other places switched me to the daily rate without a problem. All over $100. Enjoy it, choke on it, I don’t care. It just isn’t right.

We left without using the room, but they wouldn’t refund me because of the 24 hour cancellation policy. I’d booked it so my son could swim with his brothers and cousins for his birthday. When we arrived about an hour later to pay, I misunderstood the clerk. Once he realized I had too many kids with me, he said they couldn’t swim. I couldn’t choose some kids over the others, so I asked for a refund. The clerk was rude and childish, and could’ve been a lot more understanding.

The location was great and the stay was very affordable. My husband and I spent four days here, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Housekeepers did a really nice job with the rooms. Breakfast was a big hit, with different hot and cold foods each day, and it was very good. We’d definitely stay again. The place was nice and clean.
