The Franconia Inn

We held our elopement on the inn's grounds, and the setting was gorgeous. The owner linda was wonderful and made us feel welcome and special. The staff were kind, and the cozy inn really felt like a home away from home. We just left two days ago and are already talking about coming back. The activity center next door makes it easy and fun to get out and be active in the mountains.

The four-course meal left us speechless, with tender food and incredible cheesecake. The bar has a fancy menu and good home-style food, and breakfast is included. The scones are a must-try. We had a comfortable, quaint New Year's Eve and New Year's Day here. It's a cozy inn with homey decor and a warm fireplace, plus really friendly staff. We enjoyed the horse-drawn sleigh rides, cross-country skiing on a large flat area, and adventure trails for different experience levels. There's a tiny skating pond, a small tubing slope, and a fun lounge and game room with arcade and table games. Dress warmly for the trails and the rest takes care of itself. This is a lovely country inn with classic New England character and great views. The setting is beautiful and quiet, and the room was comfortable, clean, and cozy. It had the feel of an old home, with drafty windows and old pipes. The shower water was comfortably warm but never steaming hot. There was no TV in the room, which is usually fine with me, but we were there during the coldest weekend of the year, (-13 zero), and there wasn't much else to do. The pub had a cozy atmosphere and delicious food, though I thought it was a little overpriced.

Late in the day, we called the Franconia Inn looking for somewhere nice to cross-country ski, and they welcomed us warmly. The trails wind through beautiful forest past a pond. It was amazing, and the ski took about an hour. We caught a gorgeous sunset, too. Thanks again :)
