Frankenmuth Motel

For Valentine's Day weekend, the price was fantastic compared with nearby chains asking $300 or more. The rooms are well maintained, and the staff are friendly. If you just need somewhere to sleep and relax after a day around town, this is a perfect fit. We asked for late checkout and got it with no problem or extra charge. We'll definitely stay again!

The room had useful extras: a microwave and mini fridge, both clean and working well, plus a decent-sized TV. But the channel lineup didn't match the directory, and there was no safe. The bed was comfortable, if a little firmer than we're used to, and the pillows were comfortable too. Room 23 had a sink, faucet, and tiled bathroom floor, though its carpet was old and worn, with rips and a small hole. Temperature control was a problem the first night: the heat and air conditioning kept switching on by themselves. The wall unit blew cold air over both beds. We brought extra-heavy blankets, and keeping the thermostat at 67 helped; the other two nights were better regulated. The shower was very temperamental, changing from hot to cold with barely a turn. The walls were thin enough that we could hear the neighbor's TV and sometimes what they were saying, as if they were in our room. There was no light around the mirror for makeup, and the USB ports by the bed didn't work, though the plug did. Breakfast was minimal but free, except for $1 water bottles and $2 pop. There were boiled eggs, toast, jelly and peanut butter, butter, bagels, low-fat cream cheese, glazed donuts, bananas, yogurt, coffee, tea, hot chocolate packets with hot water, and oatmeal packets. No milk or anything sugar-free. In winter, not much is within walking distance, so you'll need to drive. There's a shuttle, but we didn't use it and aren't sure it goes directly to the motel. The plows did a good job clearing and salting the parking lot.

We chose this motel to celebrate Mom, who loved beautiful smaller motels, instead of staying at one of the larger hotels. It was awesome, from the moment we made the reservation. Their staff was phenomenal. We booked five rooms, and they placed them next to each other, which made it easy to run in and out of one another's rooms during our visit. Kyle checked us in and was helpful, informative, and friendly. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. The rooms are nicely updated, roomy, and have everything you could need, including a mini fridge and microwave. The whole motel, including every room, was spotless. It was quiet and calm off the main drag but close enough to be wonderfully convenient. We’ll definitely stay here next time we’re in Frankenmuth. Thanks to the whole staff for such a great experience!

This was a simple overnight stay, and we were comfortable here. It’s an older-style motel in structure and layout, but the rooms have been updated with a contemporary feel and were nice, neat, and clean. The shower was hot, and we felt more comfortable than we have in some modern places. The continental breakfast worked for us, and the location is close to shopping and restaurants. Sorry, no photos. I didn’t check the handicap options, and our room had a step.
