Bluegrass Inn

A decent place to lay your head. There's a bed, shower, fridge, and microwave. It wasn't dirty, but it felt dated. I know taxes apply, but I was quoted $89 by phone and billed $107, around 20% more, even with a so-called Veteran's discount. There are brighter, nicer, roomier hotels up the road for just $20-plus more. Breakfast is continental, with fruit, cereal, and bread. It did the job, and there are plenty of places nearby to grab food. Bluegrass Inn is a solid middle-of-the-road option if you want to stay around the $100 mark, and it didn't creep me out. Constance was very nice and polite at check-in.

After a long drive down from Cleveland, Bluegrass Inn was a comfortable place to rest during my great visit to Frankfort and the Buffalo Trace distillery. The beds were comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. From check-in through checkout, it was a really enjoyable stay. I'd recommend it as an affordable option while visiting Kentucky.

The price is good for a night, and the rooms are clean. They're a bit dated and have some wear here and there, but if you'd rather save on lodging and spend more on going out, this place works.

We came with another couple, and both rooms had a musty smoke smell. The air conditioning wasn't adequate in either one, even though it was the first week of October. I wouldn't stay here again. I don't know what's happened to motel and hotel ownership over the past 20 years, but they don't seem to know how to maintain a decent place. The worst industry in the USA.
