Super 8 by Wyndham Frankfort IN

We were in town for a funeral and stayed one night, checking in last Friday around 8-8:30pm under my husband Alex’s name. I’m Sage, not anonymous. For about $90, the hotel was decent for a quick stay, and there were no bugs, which can be an issue around Frankfort. Still, I’d hope some things get fixed. The walls were so thin I heard people talking, walking around, and watching TV. A ceiling light was coming out, and the shower curtain had stains and spots. The shower pressure was too strong, and I couldn’t move the shower head off the jet setting, maybe because it was locked. The bed was somewhat comfortable, but sagged noticeably in the middle and was louder than the TVs. Breakfast was limited as the website said, but I was disappointed they were out of all the juice and hadn’t made coffee.

The rooms were clean and updated, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I was back to visit friends and family. Frankfort is a small community, about five minutes from the nearest interstate, 30 minutes from Lafayette, three hours from Chicago, and an hour from Indianapolis. Unless you’re visiting family, traveling for business, or making a last-minute stop, there isn’t much reason to stay here.

I was dropping my daughter off at Purdue and stayed here because nearby hotels were full. It’s around 30 miles away, in Frankfort between Indianapolis Airport and Purdue, with mostly cornfields and some industry around it. For the price, it’s reasonable. The rooms are a decent size, with a refrigerator and AC, though the bathrooms could use refreshing and the hallways and doors feel dated and need upkeep. Breakfast is basic and complimentary: waffles, toast, oatmeal, apples, juice, coffee, yogurt, and cereal. There’s an ice machine that could be cleaned more often, plus shared paid laundry. Better maintenance and cleanliness would improve the stay.

Basic, clean motel with what you need and nothing extra. There’s no elevator, so keep that in mind. I’m not sure why I was put on the second floor when hardly anyone seemed to be staying there, but oh well.
