Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Greenville / Woodruff Rd

The location is great, and the room was okay. Renovations were underway, which I understand. What I couldn't make sense of was the breakfast: the precooked eggs were in a fridge, and guests had to make their own waffles. The waffle butter had spilled everywhere. 😆 Expedia described breakfast as a buffet, so when the receptionist asked at checkout if everything was okay, I brought that up. He told me it was a third-party issue and I should check the hotel's website. That answer made it seem like he didn't know his employer's product. The same breakfast wording appears on Expedia and Wyndham Microtel, so at least that's clear.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the rooms were really clean with no bugs anywhere. Great spot for a little getaway, close to lots of restaurants, shopping, and places to do things. 10/10, would recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The room was spotless, breakfast was wonderful, and the location worked perfectly. Staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to recommend great restaurants. Highly recommend.

The room had basic cleanliness and maintenance problems that made the stay unacceptable. There was bodily residue on a wall, stray hairs stuck to the walls, peeling and cracked paint, and scuffs and marks throughout. The carpet was dirty and heavily worn, the window had smudges, and the shower head leaked so much that water collected on the floor. Even the smoke detector was hanging loose from the ceiling. I wasn't expecting luxury, but a national hotel brand should keep up with routine repairs and sanitation. This room left me feeling that inspections and maintenance weren't being taken seriously. If all you want is the cheapest place to sleep and you're willing to overlook cleanliness and safety concerns, it might work. Otherwise, I'd think twice. Breakfast was self-serve waffles, eggs to microwave, toast, and cereal. It wasn't the end of the world, but if you're on a budget, you may want to plan to eat breakfast elsewhere.
