The food is what I keep thinking about, especially the collards, which tasted rich and comforting, and the flaky hand pies. The pork belly was great too, and the tender beef came with a sauce that pulled the whole dish together. Every plate felt carefully made. At The Delegate, the rooms have a lovely, homey look with a retro style that makes the place feel like another era. We felt that special atmosphere as soon as we arrived. It made for a memorable meal, and we’ll be back next time we’re in Frankfort.

There are plenty of local restaurants within walking distance, including Cypress and Oak, which is connected to the hotel, and Bourbon on Main. Both serve good food and have excellent bourbon selections. The Delegate also sits in a convenient spot for visiting nearby distilleries or exploring the town’s history and small shops. The rooms were clean and spacious, with lots of history in the building. I’d recommend staying here for a Bourbon Trail trip or a weekend away. The building was once used by E.H. Taylor Co. to house their whiskey.

The room was so comfortable I could easily live there. We had the loft suite, so maybe ours was different from the other rooms, but I loved the design. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel, and the pillows were great too. Kevin was especially friendly when we checked out, and the front desk staff were welcoming. Dining choices in town felt limited to me. I’m used to Austin and Nashville, where there’s no shortage of places to eat. There’s a restaurant attached to the hotel, though we didn’t try it, so it might be good. The hotel itself is awesome.

We’ve visited Frankfort four times for the bourbon distilleries and stayed somewhere different each trip. This time, the new hotel’s location worked out really well, with downtown shops and bars just a walk away. We enjoyed staying here and hope to return.

The building has a great atmosphere, and the staff were so friendly. It was nice having a restaurant right in the hotel, too. Parking was confusing to figure out, and the snow and ice didn’t make it any easier. If you eat at the restaurant, I’d definitely get the liver mousse appetizer.
