Hampton Inn Franklin

I slept well and was back on the road the next day after my one-night stop in Franklin. I used digital check-in and the key, so I didn’t need customer service. The lobby looked clean and nice. The place is a little outdated, but not terrible, and it’s secluded in a good way.

The room itself was decent and clean enough, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was wonderful. Our small queen room was right by the elevator and ice machine, though, so it got pretty noisy, and the view was just the top of the covered entrance. There isn’t much mountain view from the hilltop location, which is secluded but still close to everything. The lobby was cozy, with a fireplace. I’d recommend the hotel, but avoid room 300. It had the best reviews around.

The front desk staff were friendly, helped us check in, and pointed out some local sights. The room was beautiful and impeccably clean. The price was a bit more than we’d usually spend, but it’s vacation, and those extra dollars felt worthwhile for the comfort. Walking in and seeing the lovely lobby made us feel we’d picked the right hotel. If breakfast is hot and delicious in the morning, it’ll be even more worth the cost.

Erica at the front desk was unbelievably rude. My in-laws had lost their home, dogs, and every important piece of information in a house fire, and the Red Cross had put them up in a room. She made it clear she didn’t care. My husband tried to check on his grandfather, bring him food and medicine, and get a response from him, but Erica tried to have him removed from the property. We had to call the police for a welfare check. When we returned with his grandmother, who had finally been able to leave the hospital, Erica said he wasn’t allowed on the premises and threatened to call the police. That’s a terrible way to treat people who’ve lost everything. The location is nice.
