Courtyard Fredericksburg Historic District

The rooms were really quiet, which my wife especially appreciated, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. Check-in was easy, and the rooms and shared spaces were very clean. We loved being right downtown, close to everything. The food and bar were great too. We’ll definitely be back.

The area is so easy to get around on foot. Staff were kind, the rooms clean, and the pool and hot tub were well kept and a nice extra. We were only there one night, but it felt quiet and safe.

The room was clean and the front desk staff were pleasant, and the location in Fredericksburg’s historic district was appealing. Friends recommended this Marriot, and as a loyal Bon Voy member with good past experiences, I expected better. The bar and lounge let us down badly. Our group of six wanted a quiet place to catch up over a drink, but after 20 minutes at the bar without even a nod or “be right with you,” we left for another welcoming place with excellent service. The one employee handling a busy bar as well as food and drinks was understandably overwhelmed. We don’t blame that person, but management shouldn’t leave one staff member to do everything, with no manager or anyone else available to help. They set the employee up to fail and lost dedicated Bon Voy customers. We hoped it had just been a blip, so three of us tried the cafe the next morning. The rest of our group didn’t want to risk another poor experience. Again, one person was trying to manage everything. It took 20 minutes to get three teas, a banana, and a muffin. Stay here for a clean room in a nice area, but be wary of the amenities and food or drink service. There are many great places just around the corner that will acknowledge, welcome, and treat you well.

We were visiting from out of town and had a great stay. Christian at the front desk was so helpful and went above and beyond. He really made our experience as good as it could be.
