My fiancé and I booked one night here while traveling to a local wedding. It was the first time we'd left our son overnight with someone else. About an hour after arriving, while we were getting ready, another family walked in on us. Then they came in again with the owner, without knocking. I could have been getting dressed. We had to show that we were in the right cottage, which we were, and nobody apologized. After that, we kept the doors locked and the thin curtains shut. The cottages look cute in the online photos, but ours wasn't clean. The air conditioning was very loud and the Wi-Fi was awful. Then I found an extra $70 charge on my card and contacted the owner right away. I was told it was because we'd had extra people in the cottage, which was completely baffling. Don't stay here.

Cottage #2 was so filthy I could hardly believe it. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere, bugs, black mold on the ceiling and in the air conditioner and bathroom fan, and even the coffee pot hadn't been cleaned after the previous guest. I wrote my name in the dust. There was nowhere to put a suitcase, and no shelf or closet space. The couch was too gross to sit on, and the bed was so hard the concrete floor might have been better. Breakfast for two was a little ham and cheese, two slices of bread with peanut butter, which I'm allergic to, and a bit of cut fruit. It was pathetic for the price. I'm surprised the Johnson City health department hasn't inspected the place. The grounds were neglected, with dead areas, weeds, and long grass, and looked nothing like the pictures. Definitely not accessible for people with disabilities. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Very disappointing in every way.

The Snow White-themed cottage had a comfortable bed and lots of character, and it was in a lovely wooded setting. When we arrived, relaxing music was already playing and there was a complimentary bottle of wine. The owner was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was waiting on the porch in the morning. It was also conveniently between the church where we attended a wedding and the reception hall. We had a lovely stay, and I highly recommend it.

Update: We really did love this cute little cottage and would come back despite what we found. I just hope this helps make them aware of the cleanliness. The place felt quiet and quaint, almost like a fairy-tale setting, and we loved it. But our cottage needed a serious deep clean. There was dust and there were cobwebs that clearly hadn't been taken care of.
