Sleep Inn Fredericksburg

The room smelled bad, and the floors were sticky. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower bottles, one laundry machine was down, and the vending machine wasn't working either. The walls are paper thin, if you know what I mean. I had to put on headphones. Breakfast was very light, with nothing warm to eat, so thank goodness there's a coffee shop right outside the front door. I definitely won't return to this location. I guess you get what you pay for.

We have two toddlers and were honestly worried about our safety here. People were coming and going, and the place felt sketchy and unpleasant. The front desk staff were nice and offered to show me another room, but it was even worse than the first. We ended up booking at the Comfort Suites down the street, where the rooms were clean. Our first room was filthy, smelled musty and moldy, and the carpet was full of stains and gum. Don't be fooled by the cheap price. The rooms aren't clean, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The area around the hotel was decent, with good food and shopping options. The stay itself wasn't nice. Room 122 had a big empty hole where the refrigerator should have been. They moved me to Room 124, where the refrigerator didn't work and the toilet ran loudly all night. The place has an awful, overpowering damp smell, so it's a terrible choice if you're sensitive to mold. The TV reception is poor, so bring your own device. Don't stay here unless you have no other options.

For the very low room price, I have no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The place is a little dated and run down, but it was clean. Staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was replenished every morning, and the coffee was hot.
