The Lodge Above Town Creek

The shared space was enjoyable, and the Friday and Saturday evening happy hour was a nice touch. This cute little B&B is in a great location, and our room and bed were comfortable. The small breakfast basket kept us going until lunch. I'd definitely stay again.

We had a small wedding with close family and friends in July 2021, then squeezed in a 3-4 day honeymoon in Fredericksburg. After recently holding our full ceremony and reception in Lampasas, we’re saving the longer honeymoon for late August or early September. For this past weekend, we just wanted one night somewhere in town where we could walk everywhere, and The Winchester Lodge was a perfect fit. It’s right in the middle of things, yet feels like a quiet little retreat. The rooms are lovely and well equipped, and we really enjoyed the refreshing pool and the covered tables and seats around it. There are big fireplaces too, which I bet will make the place just as nice when it gets cold. We couldn’t be happier and will definitely try to stay here again.

We came for the weekend to see the town and visit wineries, and the location made getting around easy. It’s just off Main Street, about a three minute walk to shops and restaurants. The lodge is cute, with roomy, cozy rooms. My bed was very comfortable, and I loved the nice linens and deep soaking tub. There was plenty of wine in the room for an extra fee. We also had cute breakfast baskets, eggs and bacon one morning, then egg sandwiches with fruit and orange juice the next.

Sheri was so accommodating, and I’m really grateful for the effort she made. The room felt warm and cozy with its gas fireplace, and the style has a nice mix of casual elegance and rustic touches. We also loved the overhead shower and the huge whirlpool tub for two. There was a coffee maker that makes about 4-5 cups, plus a fridge and microwave. Angels Lodge Above the Creek was a delight, and I’d highly recommend it.
