Towneplace Suites Fredericksburg

Everyone was great. Charles checked me in and made the whole week a good stay. He was welcoming and accommodating, with friendly service and pleasant, funny conversations. Thanks also to Nadya for hearing our concerns, sorting out the issue, and being understanding.

The room was spacious and comfortable, from the bed and pillows to the bathroom. It had a full-size refrigerator with a large freezer, a big microwave, oven, stove, and dishwasher. The staff were cheerful and friendly too. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

I had to find a hotel at the last minute, around midnight to 1 AM, near the hospital before surgery. Snow was coming, and my drive home is nearly an hour on a country road that could’ve been iffy. This Marriott was right by a traffic light leading back to the main road, and the only hotel I saw that had treated its lot and sidewalks. That made leaving safely in the early morning snow much easier. Janet at the front desk was gracious and very friendly. The room was among the cleanest I’ve stayed in. I’d already showered at home, only needed a couple hours of sleep, and wasn’t allowed to eat, so I couldn’t make use of the kitchenette. It would’ve been perfect, though. The shower was clean, with no hotel grime or mold that I could see, which mattered a lot because I deal with mold toxicity. Breakfast smelled good as I left. I’d looked at nearby Hiltons since that’s what I usually use for work trips, but this hotel won me over. I’d recommend it and would stay again if I needed to.

This is easily the worst Marriott hotel we’ve stayed at in all our years of visiting hundreds of them. It’s old and poorly maintained, and they’ve put fans in the hallways to try to clear out bad odors. There’s tape on the front door latch, presumably because it doesn’t work right. The coffee was cold, and the water hadn’t been changed. This Marriott brand is supposed to offer a hot breakfast, but we went down the street and bought breakfast instead. I could keep listing problems, but you get the idea.
