Days Inn by Wyndham Fresno South

We had properly checked in and had a working key card, yet at 1 a.m. staff banged on our door after apparently mistaking us for homeless people. It points to serious disorganization and poor communication inside the hotel. We were also overcharged, and had to take the matter to our credit card company to dispute it. Getting clear communication from staff was very difficult. I also noticed that the five-star Google reviews seemed fake. The stay left us unsettled, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

The room was meant to be non-smoking, but it smelled of stale cigarettes. Freeway traffic and thin walls meant noise from outside kept coming through. I barely slept: there was an unsettling double knock at my door at 1:30 a.m., then the smoke detector chirped persistently at 4:00 a.m. because its battery was low. Between the noise and poor maintenance, I got almost no rest. Please don't send me the usual AI-generated reply. I'd like a genuine effort to address these concerns.

We were told it was our responsibility to check the room when we asked for shower towels, even though there weren't any provided. That's a basic need. There were bath mats and little face towels, just no shower towels. Completely unacceptable, especially since some of the room doors don't lock properly.

The free breakfast was very good, and that's the only positive thing I can say. The rooms have no baseboards, and the air conditioner leaked. We told the manager four hours earlier, but he never came by. I guess they just don't care.
