AMLI at the Ballpark

I work from home, so the skybox, workspace, and gym have been a big plus. I'm still fairly new here, but I'm enjoying the choice and haven't had a bad experience with anyone on staff. Fernando from maintenance deserves a mention. Requests are taken care of within 24 hours, and he's efficient and really friendly. My requests were to hook up the new washer and dryer after I moved in and to sort out a small garbage disposal issue. The buildings are maintained regularly, so I don't want this to sound like a complaint about upkeep.

Management is awful, and the noise is loud around the clock. Don't waste your time or money here. Crime is another concern, as shown in the attached photos and videos. After management responded, I want to clarify the access issue. Every door uses a phone app, which everyone hates, and the garage door is often left open for hours or even 1-3 days. A person trying a door has a 50%+ chance of finding it open. People also prop many doors with rocks, so the gated community doesn't feel secure. I hope TDLR checks the other elevators too, since they seem sketchy. The elevator was already making cracking sounds, moving strangely, and trying to go up with its doors open. I reported it, and management called that normal. Two weeks later I got trapped in it. None of the emergency buttons worked, and management couldn't say when help would arrive, so after 35+ minutes in intense heat we called 911. I told the manager what happened, but he again said the noises and movement with the doors open were normal. Then he steered the conversation toward missing lease documents for my girlfriend and me. We'd signed and sent them earlier, but he didn't believe me. The next day we got an email asking us to sign again, so we returned the original document, already signed long ago and bearing an employee approval signature. The elevator still isn't working, which means hauling groceries up to the 4th floor. When my girlfriend moved in before I did, the washing machine didn't work for four weeks. The unit was dirty, a window needed repair, and they were slow to deal with things. Their answer was to let her use another unit's washer, which meant going back and forth just to do laundry. The complex is only clean if you overlook bugs in the hallways, mosquito nests in the elevator, rats and squirrels outside, dog poop nobody picks up, and trash valet workers taking some bags but skipping others or missing collection days. Homeless people also pee outside the apartment now and then, as in the attached picture. Noise is a constant issue. Cars pass on the main street, and the baseball stadium behind the apartment brings weekly fireworks, music, and heavy traffic. I have a video showing the noise and light from the stadium at 10 PM. I've heard from several neighbors that maintenance requests get cancelled and repairs don't get done. People have also had car break-ins in the lot. A few wrecked, unusable cars take up parking spaces, and one of the two dog parks has apparently been closed for a while. Even the phone app used to enter the building can be slow.

I spent more than three years living here and really loved it. Maintenance got back to me quickly, and the front desk staff were always helpful. I had to leave for a job opportunity in another state, and the on-site manager helped make sure I handled the move-out properly. I highly recommend it.

At move-in, the place had a strong chemical smell, the tub was clogged, and the toilet kept flushing nonstop. Soap left on the tub for a month stripped off its surface paint. Water wouldn't go into the washing machine, and several kitchen outlets didn't work. You could also hear people opening the outdoor gate loudly from inside. Photos show insects swarming by the door and the clogged tub. The desk staff were rude and had an attitude. Later, I paid the office to find someone to take over my lease, but they listed my apartment for over $200 more than other listings with the same floor plan and square footage. I was stuck with that listing, and the office wouldn't tell me for two months when the next renter would start. When I asked them about it, they were rude and didn't take initiative to relist the place. Working with the stuck-up office staff was a terrible experience.
