Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco Hotel & Convention Center

We come here from out of state pretty often, and the staff have started recognizing our family. It’s become a favorite for both the kids and us. The pool is always so clean, and the pictures are from our visit a couple weeks ago, a Christmas present from Mom and Dad to the kids. Kidzania is right across the street, too. All the rooms are suites, so Mom and Dad don’t have to turn in when the 4 year old does. There are refrigerators and microwaves in every room, which helps keep costs down since we don’t have to eat out as much. The nighttime snacks can feed my kids, and breakfast is so big that sometimes we just snack until the managers banquet at night. They serve a free made to order hot breakfast and buffet, plus evening snacks like hummus, veggies, cheese, chips, and salsa. Each adult also gets two free alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend.

The balcony view was nice, and the hotel is handy for shopping and attractions. The staff were friendly, and the young man at reception was patient and helpful when I had a personal dilemma. I was still able to get into my room within 40 minutes. Breakfast was decent, though I’d have liked more buffet options for people who don’t eat pork. One attendant gave my mom and me a lid and tray to cover our food on the way up, so it wouldn’t be exposed to germs in the public air. The location is what keeps this from being a 2 for me. The rooms are dated, nothing like a modern Home2suites. My room wasn’t cleaned after I took down the DND sign, so I had to call that night for fresh towels and trash removal. The shower leaves a little puddle, the TV flickers, and a kitchenette drawer kept coming loose. The pool felt chilly during the cold weather, though the outer temperature was sauna warm. The pool bathrooms were freezing, so I wouldn’t change there while wet. I had to wrap my nephew in a towel to keep him from getting sick. Parking seems too expensive for this hotel. If you’re trying to avoid that charge, the baseball field parking was pretty empty all 3 days after Christmas, if you’re willing to walk a few feet. Maybe the parking money will go toward updating the rooms in the future.

We came up for Thanksgiving for the third time in several years, and we keep returning because of the team. Carlotta and Stacia handle all the late night shenanigans and still make everyone feel welcome, even when it’s five minutes past closing. They run the show and set the tone here. The hotel, rooms, and breakfast are all great, too.

I had a great room and found the whole staff wonderful during my conference visit. The front desk team was especially good: Willard was experienced and on top of things, and Blake was great. Hannah handled a huge lunch rush on her own while wearing a sling, even with our conference underway. They managed the crowd with smiles, learned people’s names, and made it a great experience. Beautiful place and a great team.
