When I’m in town for work, I usually stay here around four times a year. In the evenings, I like being able to unwind, and I think this is the best option in the St. Louis area for a business traveler who wants a bit of relaxation. The restaurant serves excellent food, and I’m fond of the building’s classic feel.

The staff were friendly, and I was impressed by the service on my first visit. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived at 3pm, but I found ways to keep busy for about an hour. It’s close to the hospitals, and there’s a shuttle to and from the airport.

The hotel is grand, the rooms are nice, and everyone on staff was kind and friendly. When my flight was delayed, they kindly changed my booking without charging extra. I’d recommend staying here.

The location and neighborhood are great, and I’ve stayed here many times. It’s a good hotel, but the rooms and bathrooms feel extremely dated and really need updating. For a place in this location, I’d expect it to have a higher status. I might reconsider my next stay until the updates are done.

The people who work here are great, and the restaurant is pretty decent. The building’s age shows in little ways, though. Both rooms I was given smelled of mold, some fixtures were rusting, and the elevators seemed like they belonged in an asylum. I think this used to be a nice hotel, and Hilton seems to be trying to keep it that way, but the infrastructure is worse than what you’d get at one of Hilton’s roadside brands. It’s fine, I guess.
