With all the complaints out of the way, the staff were great, polite, and personable. But motels cost way too much for what you get. I paid $80 a night for this room, even though Google showed $60. The TV was only 19 inches, and the DirecTV service Wyndham uses is pathetic. It takes forever to find something to watch, and the remote is junk. I could just as well watch TV on my phone. The toilet lid wouldn’t stay up, and the towel looked used. A drape was coming off the rod. These rooms have outside entrances, and the door had no seal, leaving a big crack where cold air kept blowing in. They need a professional plumber to put a toilet seat on properly. Motels feel like such a rip-off.

When we tried to check in, there were pills on the floor and half a gallon of frozen milk in the refrigerator. The smell is still in my nostrils. This was easily the nastiest motel I’ve almost stayed in. Don’t be fooled by the paint outside. Go down the road to Sleep Inn in Jasper!

Pets are welcome. We had two cats in crates, and I also saw dogs on leashes who were well behaved. As long as there’s no behavior issue, they’re fine to stay, but you need to pay a $100 deposit regardless, for any damages or fees.

The room was clean and welcoming, and the front desk clerk was very nice and polite. The moment I walked in the front door, I noticed an amazing smell. I don’t know what fragrance they used, but I’ve never entered a hotel that smelled that good.

I checked in without a problem, and the room was immaculately clean. The beds were clean, well made, and comfortable, and I got a great night’s sleep. Then I woke up unable to shower because the water was off. I called the front desk and they said they knew it was out, so I wondered why guests hadn’t been warned. After a great response from the owners and some time to think that maybe they didn’t want to disturb guests who might be sleeping, I changed my rating to five stars across the board.
