The Meadows Hotel

We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary and visit some land we own across Harris Fork Creek. We’d planned on one night, but the hotel impressed us so much that we stayed a second. My husband surprised me with the presidential suite. The rooms were beautifully decorated, the service was warm, and the food was outstanding. Chris checked us in and made us feel right at home. We also adored meeting his wife, Stacey. Michelle, the night clerk, was every bit as friendly and accommodating, and the young woman working days was wonderful too, even though I didn’t get her name. The staff really know hospitality. We’re from Florida and know fish, and I had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had at the hotel’s restaurant. The wait staff was fabulous, and the bar and restaurant were both great. We also saw a real-life beauty queen walk into the lobby. Ask about the story behind that when you go. The presidential suite was incredible, and the bathroom tub in shower was an experience we won’t forget. Thank you to the owner and staff from the bottom of our hearts.

The small size, just 20 rooms, made the hotel quiet and cozy, with a family feel. The location was handy, with restaurants, a grocery store, Walmart, and a dollar store nearby. The hotel’s bar and restaurant served delicious food. For breakfast, they gave us $5 vouchers to use at one of two places: a coffee shop with pastries and breakfast sandwiches, or a sit-down restaurant. We tried both and liked them, and the vouchers came in handy. Our room was clean and super comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and would book here again if I travel back to Kentucky. I’d recommend it to others too.

A real hidden gem in Fulton, Ky, and a lovely reconstruction that pays tribute to the past. Great people, food, and staff. Downstairs, the hotel’s restaurant and bar have a well-crafted menu for food lovers, with the bar separate from the dining area. When you want a drink, just head downstairs or take the elevator, sit back, and catch the game on the big screen.

The noise from the bar and restaurant downstairs made our second night miserable. It seems to be the town’s party spot, and around midnight we came across 6-10 very drunk college-aged people. They were apparently staying at the hotel too. Yelling, kicking and banging on doors, slamming doors, and arguing went on until 3 a.m. The front desk did little to reassure me they’d handle it, so after 30 minutes I called the non-emergency police number. It finally quieted down around 3:30. We had to get up at 6, and got no sleep either night. The breakfast places in town weren’t open when we left at 7, either. The first night, the fridge clanked so loudly it kept waking us. We unplugged it for night two, figuring these things happen, but housekeeping never came to reset the room. The website advertises breakfast, but there isn’t even a basic continental one. Instead, they give you a $5 voucher for two restaurants in town, and that won’t come close to covering breakfast. From the outside we thought this would be a cute boutique hotel where we could get some rest. Until they get the bar under control, save your money and don’t stay here.
