The bed and pillows were comfortable, but this will be our last stay at this Sleep Inn in Gafney SC. We’re an older couple visiting family nearby, and this was our second time here. After a long trip, we went straight to bed without checking the room. In the morning, I found long strands of dark hair and smaller curly hairs in the shower after I’d already gotten in. My husband has short gray hair and poor eyesight, and I’m blonde, so it was clear the shower hadn’t been cleaned. I was upset that I’d stepped into it, though I should have checked first. The room should have been cleaned before guests were allowed in. I told the woman at the front desk. She said she’d mention it to someone, then asked a few minutes later whether I wanted anyone to clean the room, which struck me as odd. We had to stay another night and hoped it would be cleaned. When we returned, the entrance smelled strongly of weed. The shower had been cleaned, but only one bed had been made, and the room hadn’t been vacuumed. It felt like housekeeping had only done half the job. I wondered whether the staff were too stoned to work.

The hotel clearly needs plumbing work and an overdue update, though that hasn’t happened yet. It’s worn, but you can see they’re trying to take care of it. The staff are amazing and work hard, and I enjoyed the breakfast.

The staff made me feel welcome and safe, and I slept incredibly well in a clean room. Breakfast was immaculate too. I was passing through Gaffney, SC on a business trip and was impressed to see parts of the hotel newly renovated. They look AMAZING! I’m so glad I found this place. 10/10 recommend!!

The location worked well for me, across I-85 from Hammrics and the Gaffney Outlet mall. This is a good affordable option if you want Wi-Fi and a decent hot breakfast, rather than a more luxurious hotel. Today there were scrambled eggs, sausage links and patties, hashbrowns, biscuits with sausage gravy, waffles, yogurt, granola, bread, coffee, fruit, and other drinks. The room is outdated for now, though the bed and pillows were comfortable. Renovations are underway, so I’m taking off a star at the moment. From what I’ve seen, they seem to be spending the money well on the upgrades, and I have a feeling this could soon be a great place to stay.

The breakfast area has been impressively clean, organized, and well stocked during the renovations. The Hispanic woman running it is doing a great job and is a real asset. Plenty of Choice locations let this part of the stay slide, but that hasn’t been the case here. I travel often for work, and this place is my oasis in this area. It never disappoints and is still a great value. The room renovations are badly needed, so I hope they go well.
