La Quinta by Wyndham Gainesville

The full breakfast was a lot of food, more than I’ve seen since Best Western, and maybe even more options. There’s a huge gym with working equipment that felt secure, and a cute pond across the street for a little stress relief. The rooms were extremely clean, with a nice view, and service was quick and readily available. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of food and banks. I’d stay here a million times and have recommended it to friends. La Quinta has never seemed to disappoint me, and this location is definitely worth the price.

We decided on a whim to break up our trip with a stay here, and I’m glad we did. The breakfast was a real hot meal, not just the muffin and coffee I expected. It’s only seconds from I-75, and for the money this is the best place. Everything was great, from pre-check-in to the clean room and the value. Highly recommend!

We stayed three nights, and our room was never cleaned. On day two we specifically asked the front desk to make sure it was done. When we returned to find it still untouched, we called and were told they had “refreshed” it, which apparently meant adding toilet paper. There was no soap at the sink, which I’d expect at pretty much any hotel. The body gel in the shower was empty. When we asked for a refill, they said they had none and gave us several tiny sample bottles instead. I’ll choose a different hotel on our next visit to Gainesville.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating, and Kimberly at the front desk was especially welcoming and kind. The room was spacious, and the place was clean and in a great location. I enjoyed the stay and would come back when I’m in town for my son’s track meet.
