Quality Inn Gainesville near University

We needed to be near the hospital, and the location was convenient. They also gave us a hospital rate. The room was fairly clean, though the paint job looked sloppy. Breakfast wasn’t great: waffle, cereal, or oatmeal, plus a cold sausage patty. I was smoking outside my room when an employee warned that smoke blowing inside could cost me my deposit. I don’t entirely agree with that.

For the price, this is a very decent room. It smelled nice, the rooms were clean, and I appreciated getting four thick towels when so many places only give you two. The 55-inch TV was a bonus. I’ll definitely be back.

I booked this place because it was close to FU University, but I wouldn’t return. The area around the hotel wasn’t clean, and the room smelled strongly of dampness, with mold on the walls and ceiling. Breakfast was terrible, with sausages but no eggs. There’s no room service, and the conditions weren’t good enough to justify $330 for two nights. My family and I stayed from October 9 to 11, and I can’t recommend it.

The room itself was clean, organized, and free of bugs. The AC worked well, the hotel is by the highway with fast food and businesses nearby, and the staff were polite. At check-in, they were having a professional conversation with an irate customer. Breakfast was a different story. The area was hard to find, poorly lit, and had no clear signs. At first there was barely any food left, and though the eggs, sausages, and hash browns were refilled after I asked, the hash browns were cold and partly frozen. The milk wasn’t refrigerated, the juice machine was down, and a bagel was covered in mold. I lost my appetite and checked out to eat elsewhere. The room was sufficient, but breakfast felt unsanitary and was severely lacking. I wouldn’t stay again.
