I booked this place for the night of the Morgan Wallen concert and paid way too much for the experience. Concert rates were jacked up, and this wasn’t what anyone would agree to pay that much for. They still charged the card they had on file, and now seem to be running away from the problem without calling me. Check-in was 3 PM. I got there at 4 and stood in a line that barely moved for about 30 minutes. The lobby looked like an exploded college dorm, with women curling their hair, suitcases open everywhere and makeup spread across the dining tables. It turned out the whole lobby was full of people who didn’t have rooms ready. The front desk kept saying they were working as fast as they could and that a room takes about 30 minutes to clean. They showed no real concern and didn’t offer any way to make up for the wait, no kickbacks, wine or rate reduction. After about an hour, I tried to get ready in the bathroom, but girls had taken it over. Both stalls were locked, with people getting ready inside and suitcases sprawled across the floor. The only sink and mirror were already occupied. By then it was nearly 5:30 PM, the time the concert started, so I missed the first half. The hotel also had no record of the “Gator Lovers Hideaway” package I bought with the room. I had to screenshot proof and email it to the front desk before I finally got the free bottle of wine included in the package. After checkout, I tried at least three times over a week to reach management. Her direct-line voicemail was full and wouldn’t take messages. I left messages with the front desk asking the GM to call back, and they kept saying she was in meeting after meeting for what seemed like the whole week.

The breakfast was phenomenal, and the stay was our cheapest and best among the six Marriott hotels on our vacation. That’s not a combination you usually get in hospitality. The rooms are a little dated, but the value reflects that. Springhill Suites in Gainesville is a hidden gem in the Marriott world. It’s well managed, and the staff make the stay delightful. It’s rare to find hotel workers who truly want to be there and focus on giving great hospitality. I highly recommend it.

We’ll absolutely come back after such a welcoming stay. From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, the SpringHill Suites Gainesville team treated us with genuine care, thoughtfulness and kindness. I’ve rarely felt so looked after in a hotel. Alicia put together a beautiful card for my girlfriend after learning it was her birthday. Ms. Red brought wonderful sass and real attentiveness to breakfast, making our mornings brighter. Laura was also amazing, kind and helpful, and attentive to what we needed from the moment we walked in. Thank you all for making the experience so memorable.

The price is affordable, and the customer service is amazing. Millie, Laura, Audrea and Duma especially went above and beyond to make this one of my best stays, and I travel quite a bit. The rooms are cozy and welcoming, so I felt right at home. It’s definitely the best hotel in town, and I truly recommend it to anyone visiting Gainesville or the neighboring area.

Mrs. Shirley and Mrs. Red are the heart and soul of this hotel. Their warmth and genuine kindness made us feel so welcome, and the Southern hospitality really shines here. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and our room was spotless. Being right off I-75 makes it easy to get around, and there’s plenty of shopping nearby. This was our second stay, and we’ll keep choosing this location for our annual Florida trips.
