Gakona Lodge

During my work stays, I’ve gotten to know the Lodge, and now I’m hoping to return for a vacation. Room six had the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for ages, and both the rooms and bathrooms are excellent. The owners are sweet and very accommodating, so I’d happily recommend it to other travelers. It’s right on the river, where I spotted two Bald Eagles and a Moose.

The lodge has a welcoming, homey feel, and there’s plenty of interesting history about the place and the building to learn. I slept really well, the staff were warm, and breakfast was delicious. I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area.

The room and bathroom were excellent, and breakfast was really tasty. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place looked even better in person than it did in the pictures. Thanks, we’ll definitely be back!

Our large group had a good meal, and the staff were friendly while working hard to look after everyone. The restaurant’s rustic decor and atmosphere had just the right old Alaska feel. One thing went wrong: the on-tap beer was undrinkable, possibly because of a bad batch from the brewery. Still, it was a positive experience, and we’d go back.
