Worth sorting the reviews by date, since a few of the bad ones that nearly put me off were at least four years old. My room was clean, the lights were bright, nothing looked worn or broken, and every outlet worked. Staff were on par, too. It’s a nice little place and I’d stay again. Just know it’s close to the tracks. One night a train went wild with its horn.

The train line runs right outside, including at night, but that’s only a small drawback for me. The rooms and service were good, and the price was decent. If you’re there for a longer stay, keep in mind there’s just one washer and one dryer, and they cost a bit: $2.00 to wash and $1.75 to dry. A minor thing, though budget travelers may want to factor it in.

The remodel looks nice, but the first room I was given hadn’t been cleaned. There were condom wrappers scattered around, and it looked like a brothel. In the second room, the beds were made, but the floors and tub were dirty. There was only one towel, no trash can, and no coffee maker. The office was locked at 8 am, so I couldn’t even get coffee there. Pretty disappointing.

We only planned on one night, but now we expect to stay about a week while our apartment gets ready. We’re moving into town, and this small family hotel already feels like home. I came across it by chance and couldn’t be happier. The place is clean, I love the guava trees in the garden, and the Internet works fine for what we need. No complaints about anyone.
