AmericInn by Wyndham Galesburg

We spent New Year’s 2026 in a suite. The location was handy, just off an interstate exit, beside a department store and near a grocery store, a gas station, and plenty of places to eat. The pool was warm and open, and breakfast was better than average, with fresh coffee, juice machines, and milk. Our room was spacious and had a couple of TVs, plus a working fridge and microwave. The linens were clean and the mirrors polished. It could have used a better vacuuming, though. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. We had a really good stay.

We checked in on the 7th and looked over the room before settling in. There was a dead bed bug behind one of the pillows, so we asked for a refund, but I still haven’t received it. I’m very disappointed, especially after seeing that we weren’t the first guests to find bed bugs. The staff didn’t seem to care and didn’t apologize. They later emailed to say they had checked the room and found nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The stay was fine apart from the incense. I wish hotels owned or managed by Indie people wouldn’t burn it, since some people are allergic. The room itself was pleasant and relaxing, and breakfast the next morning was okay, just the basics to get you started.

I’ve worked construction for 13 years and have stayed at AmericInn hotels in Minnesota and Iowa. This one in Galesburg, Illinois, is the best I’ve stayed at. Very clean. Thanks so much, room 224.
