Baymont by Wyndham Gallatin

I booked a room for an upcoming softball tournament and used the points payment option on the property's own website. I only found out there was a problem when I called to add a day. The man I spoke with said he would cancel my reservation because free nights weren't allowed at this property. When I explained that I had paid with points, he said that was only permitted after 15 consecutive days of staying there. I asked whether anyone would have warned me, or if I would have arrived on the reservation date only to learn I had no room. Another Wyndham property nearby clearly says it doesn't accept points, but this one's website offers that option. They just won't honor it.

There were problems with the room itself and the food, but the way staff treated us was just as bad. They wouldn't tell us the prices, and came into our room an hour early, then kept peeping in. That's highly illegal. We will be contacting an attorney. Staff also harassed my girlfriend's mom about her dog not going upstairs, while another tenant was smoking marijuana in their room. We stayed here with my girlfriend last night, April 17th-April 18th. The bathroom walls had urine on them, which is a biohazard. There was gum on the walls, unwashed stained sheets, and an electrical cover barely hanging off. Bed bugs bit both my girlfriend and me. Breakfast had hair in it, chunky yogurt, and hardly any options. Please stay away for your own well-being and safety. They clearly don't care about tenant safety and should be shut down immediately.

We stayed a week with our dog during the ice storm Fern, while porter power was out. The staff were really hospitable and kept us supplied with plenty of hot coffee and a generous self-serve breakfast buffet. I've stayed here for staycations before, and I'll keep coming back.

The pool and hot tub were advertised, but apparently even temperatures over 90° don't mean they'll open. When we asked, we were told they were only open from Labor Day to the 4th of July. Travelers should be told that on the website or Wyndham app. The hotel seems to have had a remodel attempt, though it looked like the work was done by unskilled, unlicensed contractors. While we were there, the same guys who checked us in watched YouTube videos as they repaired an a/c unit near our room. Several things inside our room also had excessive overstay. After our experience with the staff, we won't stay at this location again.
