Days Inn by Wyndham Gallup

The room was clean, apart from around the bed baseboards, which needed pulling out and a good vacuum. The old green carpet showed its age, but there were no odors in the room. The beds were comfortable. This place has seen better days and seems to have been rebranded many times, so it needs a major update. The door popped open when I tried the lock, and I had to wedge a chair under the handle. The room eventually got warm enough that I turned the heat down. Shower water was barely warm, and the hair dryer didn’t work.

The man at check-in was great, super friendly. The room, though, had a terrible smell, the AC didn’t work, and the beds were hard. The pillows were flat and smelled like vomit. It’s seen better days.

We didn’t feel safe here. People were moving around outside our room throughout the night, and the parking lot was very dark with obstacles that made it hazardous to drive through at night. The Days Inn sign was barely lit, room numbers were hard to make out, and the room itself was dark with very tired furnishings. An employee’s vehicle was parked in the guest check-in spot.

It’s an older building and the room was a little sparse, but everything was clean. The water was warm, the microwave and fridge both worked and were clean, and the AC filter was clean too. The pillows and mattress were clean except for a few small stains. I may not be a plumber, but I laid pipe, and it was good enough for that.
