In December, the whole building had been without working heat for over a month, even with temperatures outside around 20 degrees. My unit looked nice, but after eight months the experience of living here had been awful. When I first moved in, the air conditioning, microwave, and dryer didn't work. I kept calling, submitting work orders, and visiting the leasing office for almost two months before a technician named Johnny was hired. He seemed to have more common sense than the rest of management and maintenance. Since then, maintenance problems have usually gotten little effort. The office says things are being handled when they aren't, and the maintenance manager seems to brush issues aside. I rarely see him do much beyond taking out trash. If you have an after-hours emergency, expect him to arrive drunk. I wouldn't recommend the lofts at Opop or tower at Opop to anyone looking for a home, not even a homeless person. My experience is one of many nightmares this company has caused. Moving here was a terrible mistake, and anyone considering it should run.

We really liked living in our loft for the year and a half we were here, so I hate having to say this. After yet another property manager took over, I was hopeful because the leasing office staff seemed nice. Then our AC quit near the end of July. It's now been out for a month in the hottest part of summer. Maintenance barely communicates, and they keep closing my work orders without actually repairing anything. My wife and I can't afford to stay somewhere else, so we've been stuck in the apartment through a month of 90°+ weather with no fix. It's heartbreaking, but this isn't okay.

We tried to get an apartment here, with Izzy as our contact. She said the process would take a week, but it has been three. We were ultimately denied because of her clerical and math errors. She emailed every other day for more information, which we sent promptly. During verification, she called our previous landlord and employer, said their answers were fine, then emailed them asking for more details. In our line of work, it seemed clear she found the amounts she saw unbelievable. During the tour she kept reminding us that people scam, then saw our Mercedes and said, “Oh well, I guess you all can afford the apartment since you’re in a Benz.” It was an unusual, very unprofessional interaction. I wonder whether she makes those comments to people who aren't brown. It felt discriminatory. She didn't even email to tell us we'd been denied. We had to call her three times that day after she'd said she was waiting for the manager to return and sign off on invoices she'd requested by email. Imagine living there and needing something done but not being able to reach the office. Reviews saying they don't respond are completely true. They're not prompt, punctual, professional, or considerate. There are thousands of lofts downtown in St. Louis, so I'd avoid applying here and wasting your time.

The lofts themselves are beautiful, but the management makes everything miserable. My car has been broken into four times in two years in the secured garage. The fireplace also didn't work for over a year, and after the property gave up trying to fix it, we had to call a third-party maintenance team. We're now trying to move out, and management won't return calls or emails from our new landlord for rental verification. Someone on the phone promised this morning they'd respond, but they didn't, and we lost our option. They apparently find that funny. We put in a request two months ago to replace the specialty bulbs in our living room lights. The bulbs are still out, yet they sent a survey asking how well they'd handled the request. After I followed up, they apologized and promised immediate action. Weeks later, still no lights. The list goes on. Stay away.
