La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gallup

We only stayed briefly, but this is a perfect stop for travelers, right off Interstate 40 W on historic Route 66. The lobby isn't much to look at, but the rooms are a good size and clean. The king bed was the best part of this La Quinta. It felt like sleeping on a cloud, and we both got a great night's sleep. Even the pillows were comfortable on my neck, which matters since I'm very picky about them because of neck issues. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, and breakfast had an adequate selection. We'd happily return. Thank you, La Quinta!

The fenced dog relief area was secure enough that you could let your dog off leash, which makes this a great place to stay with dogs. Our room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable with a plush mattress topper. Breakfast was good for a free hotel spread, with plenty of hot and cold choices.

The room and bathroom looked beautiful and were super clean, and check-in was quick and easy. We were glad to find a small dog relief area during our cross-country trip. Breakfast had the usual selection and was very good, especially the soft biscuits. I've got family coming along the same route soon, and I'm making sure they stay here too.

The suite was pet friendly and the location felt safe. Breakfast was just okay, though the friendly staff did a great job keeping the hot food stocked, even while the hotel was sharing space with a literal football team of hungry children. We were in the indoor pool area with those kids too, and it was well kept. The hot tub was pleasant. I had two large german shepherd dogs, and they were welcome here. There's a fenced pet area with a rock floor and dog bags available. I'd avoid Turquoise Canyon next door, though. Go to Perry Null or Richardson trading post instead.
