Best Western Plus Galveston Suites

We had a spacious room with two queen beds, and every room faces the ocean. The hotel is just across the street from the beach and near lots of restaurants. Breakfast was pretty good, and the Wi-Fi was free too. We love this place.

This has been my favorite of the several Galveston hotels I've tried over the years. Being way out at the far West end meant less traffic and fewer people, which I really liked. Our room was roomy and very clean, with a balcony where we could sit and look at the beach. The whole team was cheerful, from the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping, and the restaurant staff were great too. They even had plenty of luggage carts, unlike most hotels where there are only a few and they're usually heavily used. I got a good rate, though it wasn't summer, and the complimentary hot breakfast was a nice extra. I can't say enough good things about it. This one's a must for me.

The mattress could stand to be updated, it wasn't that great. Everything else about the room was very nice, with lots of space for our family, and we loved the balcony and ocean view. Breakfast had plenty of choices. What I'll remember most is how kind and helpful everyone was. I accidentally left a sentimental item behind before boarding a cruise. The staff found it, kept it safe, and mailed it to my home once I could call again after having no service. I'm extremely grateful. I'll absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Galveston.

I was surprised by the less positive reviews. We got more than our money's worth. The front desk was welcoming and check-in took no time, with lots of parking and coffee and water in the lobby. Our suite was huge and open, with an ocean-view balcony and chairs, a work table, sofa bed, and another chair to relax in. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets and bathroom were spotless. Breakfast had a great selection, including Texas-shaped pancakes and my favorite Folgers coffee. I've been loyal to Marriott, but this stay changed how I see things. Best Western has definitely won me over, and I'll be back.
