Carr Mansion

We came from Houston for a romantic weekend and loved our stay. The hostess was so nice and accommodating, made sure we had what we needed, and shared plenty of great local recommendations. Breakfast, served on weekends, was delicious. The rooms were spotless, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the place has a really cool look. The mansion is beautiful from the outside. The owner has done a great job cleaning up the historic building while retaining almost all of its character from the past 200 years. Nothing but good things to say. We'll come back next time we're in Galveston.

Breakfast was a highlight: not a buffet, but the best homemade Belgian waffles with fruit and sausage. I stayed in the Preachers room at Carr Mansion B&B, and it was extremely clean. The towels and sheets felt soft and fluffy and smelled so fresh. The TV glitched a lot, though I'm not sure why. The location was perfect for a quiet, peaceful weekend and the service and property were beyond pleasant. I'll definitely return. I recommend it 100%. Thanks so much, Joellyn!

The Carriage House behind the main house was a great place to spend Labor Day weekend 2023. My wife and I had an amazing stay and will come back to try another room at the Mansion. It was an easy drive to both the Strand and the Seawall. Joellyn, the owner, was very hospitable and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. She offered us drinks when we arrived, and when my wife liked some cookies, Joellyn gave her a package to enjoy later that night. Breakfast was catered by renowned Chef Mary Bass and was quite delicious, with breakfast casserole and tamales.

The stormy weekend kept us from getting to the beach, but staying at Carr Mansion made the trip worthwhile anyway. We stayed in “The Preacher”, a beautiful room with a luxurious king bed and the coolest bathtub. The bed and breakfast is gorgeous, and every room has its own character and style. Joellyn is such a warm, welcoming hostess. She makes breakfast for guests every morning, and her waffles are delicious. On Saturday afternoon she held a happy hour with an open bar on the mansion's first floor, which was a fun chance to spend time with her and meet other guests. We'd highly recommend booking Carr Mansion in Galveston and look forward to coming back soon.
