Stella Mare RV Resort

The RV sites were nice and level, so we didn't have to make major adjustments when setting up. Everything felt peaceful, clean, and well maintained. The pool area looked beautiful, with lots of green grass around the property, and even the adults had fun in the splash pool. Stella Mare RV Resort is a little outside downtown Galveston, which made our stay quieter and more relaxing. We had a great time and would stay here again.

We first stayed at Stella Mare over Thanksgiving break, for 4 nights in back in site 20. The park is laid out well and was easy to navigate with our 42' fifth wheel. The sites are spacious enough for the rig and two vehicles. We arrived a little after closing, found our packet in the after-hours box, and went straight to our site. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the heated pool was nice and warm. The two staff members I spoke to were welcoming. Town is close enough that everything is a short drive. Getting to the beach without driving wasn't easy. You'd have to cross four lanes of traffic, and there isn't a nearby beach access. The one we found had a sign saying parking was $15 a day, though that may only apply in summer. We weren't planning to go to the beach, so it didn't affect our stay, but it could be a problem for a summer vacation. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

The location suited us well, away from the main business area but still convenient. It was quiet and relaxing, and the pool and restrooms were really nice and well kept. We had a great stay. The mosquitoes got pretty bad after dark, so being outside then wasn't really an option.

The pool and lounge were closed for two days without any warning. With our smaller unit, we depend on the heated pool and air-conditioned lounge as our living space. If we'd known, we would have stayed at the resort Tuesday to use the pool and gone into Galveston on Wednesday instead. The RV park is nicer than most, though the sites are small and service needs work. For four days in a row there were no paper towels in the bathrooms, and no other way to dry our hands.
