Breakfast was a nice perk, and I think it costs $5 a plate. There are snack and drink machines on the second floor near the office, plus laundry and a small workout room downstairs. The pool view from the back of an upper-floor room is nice in summer. The location is only okay, but if you need a reasonably priced place in the district, I’d recommend it. I’d avoid the first floor.

The location is the only decent part, and there’s a better hotel right across the street. My room had lots of roaches, and getting someone to spray for them was difficult. The towels and linens looked, felt, and smelled dirty every time I came, and it was hard to get fresh ones. The front desk woman is extremely rude to me. I’m a 27-year-old brown woman, and I believe she is prejudiced against brown people. She gives me trouble whenever she sees me, though I’ve never had a problem with her or caused trouble at the hotel. I’ve only asked for clean linens, for the room to be sprayed, or for a simple room upgrade, and they never want to help, despite the room conditions and the money I’ve paid. Staff are shockingly lazy. Even when they agree to bring linens or spray, it takes forever. It’s ridiculously inconvenient. 0/10, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

At Armstrong Inn & Suites, the staff were professional and the service exceeded what I expected. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Just to be clear, I have no beef with the hotel. I’m local and have a nice house, so I don’t need a room. I dropped off a DoorDash order there recently, though, and the place was dirty, smelled like smoke, and made me uncomfortable. I deliver to some pretty slummy trailer parks and apartment complexes, so that’s saying something. I didn’t stay there, but based on what I saw, I’d never book it or recommend that anyone else do so.

The room was clean and seemed well kept once I got in, and the laundry machines were all working. I had no trouble with noise or bugs, and it was good value for the price. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk was helpful about finding an ADA room for my wife. My room wasn’t ready yet, but I just went out for a few hours, so it was no big deal. The first floor could use some work: the carpet badly needs replacing, and the hallway needs paint. I suspect many negative reviews come from people who broke the rules and got caught, though some may be legitimate. No place is perfect.
