The Elite sites are really nice, but management could be more flexible. At 12:50, several campers were stuck blocking the entrance because check-in wasn’t until 1:00. The woman wouldn’t let anyone in without paying the $30 early check-in fee. I understand that it’s policy, but after more than 30 years camping at countless campgrounds, I’ve never seen such rigidity over ten minutes. Family-owned campgrounds I’ve used tend to be flexible and don’t start arguments over it. With a little tact, she could have calmed things down, but instead she was confrontational and made the situation worse.

We only used the cabin to sleep, since we spent the days up early shopping and exploring places new to us. It was clean and comfortable, apart from the beds. The plastic mattress covers made noise when we moved and also made the beds hot, so we turned down the A/C. The microwave stopped working, but they fixed it promptly. We’ll stay there again.
There’s plenty to do, and the two pools are now heated. The campsites are a good size, with several types to choose from, and the area is very quiet. Mini golf can still be played, but the course is in rough shape and really needs rebuilding. Still a great place to stay.
The campground seemed well cared for, and they were putting stone on the roads when we arrived. We didn’t use the amenities, but there were lots of weekend activities and it was quiet at night. The office staff seemed friendly and helpful. Mini golf needed a cleanup from tree debris, though, and we would have had to sweep most of the holes to play. It seems like a good spot for families with kids. We stayed through our Thousand Trails membership for our first trip in a new trailer. Since we didn’t want to go far from home in case of problems, the location suited us. I tried booking online, but it showed limited availability and told me to call. I asked for a premium site, but was told a standard one would work for our trailer. They didn’t mention that standard sites don’t have full hookups, so we arrived to find no sewer connection. Fortunately, we managed without dumping during our stay. Our spot was at the end of the road, which was nice. It was one of 14 sites with 50 amp service and electric, and only two of the other 13 were occupied when we got there. One was beside us and another across from us, so a bit more space between occupied sites would have been nice. All the sites had picnic tables and fire rings. There were nine unused sites in our area, so I’m not sure why online booking wasn’t available. The campground is close to home, so I don’t know if we’ll return.
Our first tent camping trip with the three kids was at Spring Gulch, and we absolutely loved it. The site was spacious, the staff were friendly, and there were activities for the whole family. It was clean, beautiful, and in a great location. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
