We spent a week in room 407, which had everything we could need, well-equipped rooms, and great patio furniture. The views of the beach, ocean, and pool were amazing. I’ve stayed at Crown Reef and Caribbean and other resorts, but this was my first time at royal garden resort, and I was really pleased. The cleanliness stood out everywhere, from the room and parking garage to the beach. Having the salty pickle on site was also nice when we didn’t feel like heading out after a long day by the water.
The location was the only good part. My grandson enjoyed the pool, but the room had roaches and black mold in the vents. The bathroom ceiling was being held up with a curtain rod. They sent someone to spray while we were there, but didn’t offer to move us or refund us. Parking is tight. I do not recommend it.
We had to stay three nights while waiting on our refund and finding another place, though thankfully one of those days was Sunday, when there was no construction. We’d booked unit 207 for a month through AirBnB, but major balcony work meant jackhammering from 8 until 4 or 5 every day. Tape and plastic covered the sliding doors and sea view. The listing never mentioned the ongoing work or the possibility of it. Our trip was canceled on the site, so we can’t leave a review there. The work looks like it may continue through April 2026, so I wouldn’t rent here soon. The unit was okay, but the bathrooms were small and dated, and they’d be small even in the updated units. The building needs more than balcony repairs. The indoor pool is tiny, and the garage and halls by the pool are dismal. The view would have been great if we could have seen it. With so many other places to choose from, this is by far the least desirable.
It was even better than I expected, really clean and beautiful! The Salty Pickle downstairs is a bonus. The food is wonderful, the drinks are the best, and it’s very affordable.
Royal Garden Resort isn’t a hotel. The units are privately owned, with furnishings and decor that vary, though many are rented out for vacations. For vacation rentals, Dunes Realty and Garden City Realty are good companies to look into.
