We had a great time here and really liked the hotel. The room was small, cozy, stylish, and had everything we needed. Check-in was super easy, and I love the contactless setup. My one gripe is the standard check-in time, 4 pm feels really late. We paid the $20 fee to get in early.

This was a complete mess, and I wouldn’t stay here again. I arrived alone at 12:30 am in a city I didn’t know and couldn’t get into my room. I spent more than 30 minutes on the phone while they repeatedly asked if I was opening the door wrong, even after giving me what they called a hard code. It didn’t work. They directed me to the main office, which they admitted was “tricky,” but its door wouldn’t open, and there was no lockbox there. After being put on hold again, I figured out myself that the lockboxes were hidden somewhere else, not behind a door as they’d implied. I finally got into the room around 1 am. They wouldn’t give me a physical key, so later I got locked out again. The lockbox code failed too, and I had to go through the whole thing again. I had something important in the morning. Eventually the manager came to unlock the door, which made me wonder why they couldn’t have done that at the start. I went back up for the third time and was still locked out. Another 30 minutes passed, then they called because it still wasn’t working. The manager laughed and offered no compensation. Update, 3/29: They never replied to my follow-up email. When I called, I was told I’d get only 10% of what I paid as a “refund,” and the additional compensation was for future stays, though that was vague. Absolutely ridiculous.

The upgrades are marvelous, and check-in was so easy. After a long drive from Washington, this was such a quaint, quiet, relaxing spot. We’re continuing on to Texas in the morning, and we really appreciate how simple the check-in process was. Thank you.

The rooms are much tighter than the photos suggest, though they are cute. The photographer did a good job making them look spacious. There are maybe 15 parking spots for at least 25 rooms, so some guests have to leave their cars a block away in an unlit alley overflow area that felt very unsafe. I worried we might not come back to our car. The walls are paper thin, and we heard loud music and traffic all night. The bathroom fan also runs all night, with no off switch, even after I checked several times. I don’t understand where the good reviews came from. We left unhappy.
