We stayed at this Country Inn and Suites with our two grandsons on August 10, 2025. The night was late and there were severe storms outside, so we didn’t move to another hotel, but we would not recommend staying here. The room was filthy. The carpet had dirty fuzz all around its edges, and a flashlight showed a grime-covered penny in a corner that looked like it had been there a long time. The bathroom tile was just as bad, with dried muddy dirt collected in the corners. The tub caulking had yellow and brown spots. Then I saw what looked like a big spider between the bed and wall. It turned out to be an upside-down “Route 66” lapel pin, its sharp point sticking up and no closer on it. Stepping on it could have driven it half an inch into someone’s foot. I told the very nice desk employee about the room and gave her the pin. The next morning we made the bad choice to eat breakfast downstairs. After a few bites of my scrambled eggs, my grandson asked whether his milk was supposed to look like that. It was curdled in both his bowl and glass. It wasn’t expired, but apparently hadn’t been kept cold enough. The little fridge also felt warmer than it should for keeping food fresh. I showed the clerk the curdled milk before we left. Then, when I lifted my plate to clear the table, there was a short dark hair in my eggs. I have long grey hair. It’s hard to believe how many things were substandard in one stay.

We paid premium prices for two rooms and were extremely disappointed. The front desk person wasn’t very helpful, the second-floor plumbing wasn’t working properly, and our room was missing amenities.

The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and it stayed cool. Breakfast was fine. But we brought our granddaughters on a trip after making reservations, and there was no pool for them to swim in. The hallway smelled like pot, and the TV wouldn’t turn on until we called the front desk. The girls were disappointed.

The pool wasn’t open, but the staff were very nice. Our room was clean, and breakfast had a good variety. It was fresh and well stocked.

I stay here regularly for work, and the rooms, breakfast, and staff are all great. The only real problem is the Wi-Fi, which is basically unusable from around 8pm until midnight.
