Hotel Marguerite Anaheim/Garden Grove, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We spent four days here, and on two of them breakfast had neither pancake mix nor even bread. When we asked, we were told they didn’t have it in inventory, so we had to buy food elsewhere. Don’t pick this hotel for the breakfast, and to me the money was wasted. At check-in, we didn’t like the room we were given and asked for another. We were made to wait out at reception until a new room was ready. We said we had a child with us, but the staff wouldn’t listen, and we ended up in the bad room anyway. I’ve never dealt with staff this rude and unsupportive; they just say that’s how it is and don’t help. This is my honest review: avoid this place, especially if you’re with family. Pay $100 more for a better hotel. I wanted to give it zero stars, but Google doesn’t allow that.

It was run-down and dirty, much worse than I expected from the online pictures. I found hair in the bed. You’d be better off at a motel.

The location works well, close to Disney and other fun places, and the staff were friendly. For the price, the room is adequate, but it’s clearly aged. The surfaces were scratched and worn, and there was visible mildew in a bathroom corner. The pool looked cloudy and possibly unclean.

We stayed for a week or two and found the hotel convenient, just off the 22 freeway and about a 15-minute drive from Disneyland. It was clean, reasonably priced, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. There’s a gated enclosure around the property, and parking felt safe, with no riffraff around. A few rooms have nice balconies, so ask if you want one. There are working ice machines and vending machines with snacks available around the clock. The free breakfast was decent, with eggs, cereal, bread, bagels, sausage, pancakes, and more. There’s also an AMPM gas station within walking distance, open 24 hours for snacks and drinks.
