Gardena Terrace Inn

We slept well in the bed, and the shower was good. The room was clean, though we didn't spend much time in it. The rooms are what you'd expect for the price. Both people at the front desk were nice and helpful, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. Housekeeping was friendly too. I'd consider staying here again.

For $120 a night, I'm not sure it was worth it, even if the area isn't especially expensive. My room had no towels, so I had to ask the front desk; they apologized, but the towels they brought were scratchy. The bed felt like cardboard and the covers were thin. There's very little in the way of toiletries, just a tiny round soap and shampoo, with no toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, or shower cap. The non-smoking rooms smelled strongly of smoke. Late at night, the desk isn't really open: you stand outside while they speak through a window. The walls are thin, and you can hear the maids' carts when they start cleaning early.

At 70, I've never had a motel stay this bad. There was construction in the office, so we had to handle things at an outside window. The first night, there was no AC or heat. The toilet seat was filthy, and even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking motel, the room smelled of smoke and the bedding had burn holes. The woman working the window in the morning was pleasant, but the night staff member was rude. Never again.

The price was the best part, just $130 a night for the suite, and it was well worth it. The staff put out a small breakfast in the morning, with cereal, pastries, and juice. Our room was spotless and had a refrigerator, microwave, big flat-screen Smart TV, and a cute balcony. The Jacuzzi Suite was beautiful, much nicer than the website photos suggest. The tub was perfect and big enough for at least three people to fit comfortably. There was also a huge glass shower with shampoo and conditioner dispensers. I'd absolutely recommend this place!
