Nisei Inn

The shower was either freezing or scalding, and even at 5'3" I found the shower head too low. They provide a tiny bar of soap that barely lathers, plus little shampoo and conditioner packets, so bring your own. There were ants throughout the room and in our belongings. The walls and sheets had holes, with graffiti everywhere. It was disgusting.

The room itself was comfortable for a night, with plenty of space, a decent flat-screen TV, working AC, and a tidy bathroom with clean towels and soap. At a little under $100, it worked for a short stay or some privacy. The cigarette smell was unpleasant, though not as bad as some reviews suggested. Before getting to the room, I was put off by the rough-looking area, people working on pipes, and piles of old furniture. Check-in was easy: the woman at the desk asked for basic details and handed me a key, since I’d already paid online.

The room had too many problems for the price. The bed covers and sheets were torn, there was a hole in the wall, a broken mirror, what looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling, and rusty metal on the hanger and in the bathroom. There wasn’t even a microwave. They need to redo the rooms and furniture. I’ve stayed in better places for less, and I won’t come back, even if I’m nearby. I drove over thinking this was a budget-friendly deal after someone recommended it. When I called ahead, they didn’t mention the extra charges, and the two-night price went up instead of being $85 per night. By then I’d already made the drive and felt my time had been wasted. I felt misled from the start. Please be careful with this place. It was a 0/10 experience.

I picked it because it was near my work, though I’d confused it with another place. For under $100 a night, all I got was a room. Mine didn’t have the cigarette smell I associate with cheap hotels, and the bathroom wasn’t filthy, but the carousel was sticky and gross. I’m 5'7" and the shower head was still too low. I won’t stay there again.
