Best Western Gardendale

The location is great, but I was very unhappy with how little consideration there was for guests trying to sleep. We were woken at 12:15 by housekeeping pounding on our door. They said they were housekeeping, and when I called the desk to complain, I was told they were having a problem with housekeeping and this was when they had to do it. The noise went on for hours. I’d first described the place as quiet, so I’m changing that: people smoking pot also made the stay miserable, and the pillows were awful. . -

The location works well, close to the interstate but far enough away that traffic didn’t keep us up. It was clean and quiet, with friendly staff and a welcoming feel. Breakfast was okay, though the eggs were too well done for me and there was no gravy for the biscuits. Everything else was great.

The customer service was what I liked most. From our first interaction through leaving for our next adventure, the host was knowledgeable, accommodating, and tried to help with whatever we needed. The room itself was modest. Breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, yogurt, pastries, grits, oatmeal, cereal and toppings, fresh fruit, juices, and more. The breakfast attendant was helpful and kept things running smoothly.

SUPER, five stars! Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Branigan, Rita, and Brandon were professional, friendly, and polite. Kudos to management. We’ll stay again!
