Ridgeline Hotel at Yellowstone, an Ascend Collection Hotel

For just one night, this was well worth it. The riverside setting is quiet, set back from the main street, and from the parking lot you can see across much of Gardiner to the Yellowstone Arch entrance. It really is that close. We booked directly and had a great experience. The week before arrival, the hotel let us know renovations were coming up for our chosen room type and they’d need to switch us. At check-in we found they’d moved us into a huge double suite with a very large balcony. The front desk also gave us a fantastic dinner tip, Wonderland Cafe. I felt bad for two people trying to check in before me. They’d relied on Booking.com, which apparently booked and charged them for a night when the motel was sold out. Nothing could be done locally. It’s why we almost always book direct, especially at smaller places. We didn’t use the amenities, but it was cold with light flurries, and there was a fire pit burning outside the main entrance with plenty of guests enjoying it. Glad we found the motel, and I’d stay again.

The staff were friendly, the amenities were great, and the views and location made getting to Yellowstone easy. We especially liked the s’more kits and sitting by the patio fire. We checked out the pool, hot tub, and game room but didn’t use them, so we’ll try those next time. The room itself was a little dated in the walls, doors, and floors, though the beds and linens were new and comfortable, and the TV was large and easy to use. We also took the binoculars and walking stick into Yellowstone. Can’t wait to stay at Ridgeline again.

The river and mountain view from our King “river view room” was incredible, and at night the stars were just as impressive. The room was in the hotel, about 100 yards from the main building and office. The windows had blackout covers, the bed was comfortable, and the room was nice. They provided binoculars for looking out the window. The main fire pit was nice, though the one near our room wasn’t working. We didn’t swim or use the jacuzzi, but both looked nice. We ate at Wonderland and enjoyed the Montana Burger, sweet potato fries, and decor. At Cowboy’s Lodge & Grill, the burger was great too. Get a side of their blackberry habenero sauce for the fries and burger.

Our room was spotless, and everyone on staff was so kind. We could watch the river from the room, and they had binoculars for looking toward the mountain. Out front, there’s a lovely fire pit with free s’mores kits. We loved staying at the Ridgeline.
