Travelodge by Wyndham Gardiner Yellowstone Park North

The front desk is staffed 24/7, which was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient, close to Yellowstone National Park’s entrance, with a couple of good cafes nearby. The rooms are good, though the queen bed is small and not suitable for two people.

You can see the Roosevelt Arch from your room, and it’s easy to walk into town for shopping or dinner. For the cost and convenience, this place is hard to beat. Don’t let the fact that it’s an economy hotel put you off. The rooms, staff, location, and cleanliness beat the bigger hotels by a lot. It really works as a basecamp for adventure.

The receptionist was very kind. The room, though, turned into a little accidental disco at night: a blue router light on the ceiling, some random green glow from the wall, and a TV clock bright enough to land a plane under VFR. The toilet also needed careful handling, or it would start running again every five minutes. You could hear everything through the thin walls: kids stomping upstairs, odd clicks in the walls, and outside noise.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay, and I’d recommend it if you’re visiting Yellowstone or Gardiner.
