The setting is beautiful, surrounded by the lake, and the scenery is breathtaking. Lake-view rooms would've been amazing, though I imagine they'd cost more. My room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean. The bed was great, as I've come to expect from this hotel brand. The room showed some age, but everything worked and was well maintained. The front desk woman who checked me in was outstanding. She was very helpful and quickly sorted out an issue with my card. It was a pleasant, dependable stay. I know what to expect with this brand and will look for it again when I'm in the area.
4/10
Great spot and good service, but the rooms aren't up to par. The non-smoking rooms my crew and I got all smelled like people had smoked in them recently.
8/10
We came from Tennessee for a friend's 80th birthday in Texas and spent two nights here in Garland. The reception area and dining room were both decorated for Halloween, so cute! The owner-manager kept the coffee, waffles, eggs, sausage, cold cereal, yogurt, juice, and fresh fruit coming while cracking jokes. We enjoyed our stay and I recommend this motel.
4/10
The room looked clean, and you can tell it's been remodeled recently. But the work doesn't seem well done, since the toilet wasn't installed properly, and there was an odd smell.
10/10
The room was spacious and clean, and the front desk and housekeeping staff were really friendly.
