Super 8 by Wyndham Gastonia

I travel a lot, and I won’t stay here again. The bathroom was disgusting, the blankets had holes, and the rug looked like it had never been vacuumed or cleaned. The air conditioner roared like a tank driving through the room, and the staff were very rude. There were drug deals outside our room. I was also charged $17 more than the website price for one night, with no explanation. This doesn’t deserve even one star. I’ve seen abandoned holdings that seemed safer and cleaner.

The rooms in the pictures don’t seem to exist at this location. They should get an unannounced inspection. I had to buy roach spray, and they wouldn’t compensate me for the inconvenience. My three-day stay isn’t finished, but I’m checking out and moving to another hotel. Save your money and pay a little more somewhere else.

We arrived in the middle of the night and found a clean room at a decent price. The room and bathroom were nice for what we paid, but there were cockroaches in the bathroom air vent. I know they’re hard to deal with in the Southeast, but I bagged all our things in garbage bags so I wouldn’t take any with me. Thanks.

After four restful, affordable nights, I’m thinking about staying another before heading to Georgia. The room feels like a safe harbor, and I haven’t seen the problems mentioned in a couple of earlier reviews. Everything works. The internet isn’t great, but I’m here to shower and sleep, not surf the web. The king bed is clean, smells good, and has a pillow top. The fridge and microwave look new, and the steel tub has no rust or mold. The bathroom floor looks clean enough for the three second rule if you drop a vitamin. Best Super 8 I’ve stayed in! Kudos to Super 8 Motel in Gastonia, North Carolina. If you’re passing through or visiting the Charlotte area and need a comfortable, clean, economical room, this is my pick.
